Why I’m Running

I’m running for Detroit School Board because we need someone at the table who knows what our children face firsthand; someone who is in the building every single day working with the children of Detroit Public Schools.

Prioritizing our children’s education is very personal to me.¬†Growing up, my mother was a Student Support Advocate, and my aunt was a teacher. I’ve seen the struggle Detroit Public Schools have faced over the years.

These children are our future. They don’t deserve a second-class education. They deserve more. Detroit students deserve to be educated at the same highly-ranked levels we see in districts across the state of Michigan.

When I’m elected to Detroit School Board, I’ll fight for what our kids deserve — because I know what they face.

It’s time to stop leaving our kids behind. It’s time for a better, brighter future for Detroit’s schools.
